What it Would Be Like to Have Total Control

This doodle just goes to show how we can get distracted in a meeting and start sizing up our fellow meeting mates. While not exactly a scribble due to boredom, it is nevertheless a mental tangent stirring internal wont for total control:

Chuck Rose over at Struggling to Paint says this about his doodle:

"This is a sketch of the guy who does a lot of the video on our site. He's really much nicer than I make him out to be in this sketch. I started thinking about what it would be like to have total control of part of the website, and he was sitting across the table from me, and one thing lead to another, and well, there you go.... UberLord of Video."

The video dude sketch looks like one of my uber mean grade school teachers. How old is that guy and was he ever a teacher?

Staff Meeting Notes

Here is an excellent example from Lydieth A of how to doodle the perfect balance between internal rambling and fantasy vacationing during a meeting:

Techniques of a Bored Meeting Scribbler

Let's face it. Most meetings are boring. There is nothing much that can be done about it unless you are the one presenting and facilitating the meeting. Chances are though that your boss wants you to go in his/her place because he/she "has another appointment" or "just can't make it". That usually means overwhelming boredom is just around the corner. What can you do to maximize the boredom and take advantage of all the "free" time you will have on your hands? Learn how to doodle. With a few key techniques, you will be on your way to scribbling meeting notes your peers are sure to be in total envy of.

Our Fisrt Meeting Scribble

This is our first meeting scribble and it comes to us from Myra Romano's Flickr stream.

Here is what Myra has to say about this scribble:

"Can you tell I got new sharpies at this point. I had to try them out. Sometimes, I would come to meetings with an array of different pens and markers. I was really lucky to have worked with some very super understanding bosses. I swear to you, this helps me think. And as you can tell, I still take meeting notes, this only takes a few moments!"

Sure doesn't seem like Myra is bored. I know I couldn't come remotely close to doodling something with that level of detail. I wonder what she would do if she WAS bored?
